Kickstarting My Birthday Weekend Adventure: Night 1 of the Road Trip!

Over the weekend, we decided to take a Texas road trip for my birthday. It was going to be a “weekend celebration” ...without the boys knowing ANY details. Seriously, we scooped them up after school on Friday - had everything packed and we hit the road. 😎

We finally arrived at The Antlers Inn in Kingsland at 9:19pm and it sounded a little like this…

πŸ‘‰ Jaxon: “Hey dad. Why does that house look like the house from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre?”

πŸ‘‰ Me: “You think? I don’t know. It looks like a regular house to me. Sit down so I can park.”

πŸ‘‰ Jaxon: “I don’t know dad. That house looks like the house.”

We park the truck - and then I looked at him and said - “Cuz it is the house!!!”

Both boys got out of the truck and the wifey says to me, “How did he know that was the house??? He’s so your kid.”

“Yes, he is. Yes he is.” 😎

(Side note: Maddox could care less. πŸ˜‚ He didn’t care too much for the movie especially the sounds of the camera and tunes used in the movie as well. He’s not into horror stuff.)

Now me - this has been on my bucket list for a minute now. 😊
